for Chinese Affairs and have been either

returned to their parents or accommodated

in an orphanage.

The visits of the

inspectors have shown that in general the

girls are contented and well-treated by their

employers.

Isolated cases of cruelty to

children occur in Hong Kong as in this

country, but they are exceptional and

adequate penalties are imposed by the

Courts.
